• Cecilia Blomdahl lives in a cabin on Svalbard, and has made a lovely, slow-paced slice-of-life video about coping with four months of 24-hour daylight.
   
• Polyhedral Dice: Why Are They? is a wonderful explainer with barely a word wasted. The history of the d20 and its ilk, in under five minutes; it feels like the sort of well-researched, well-orated presentation that'd show up at a 'lightning talks' event, back when those were a thing.
   
• Tom the Taxi Driver vlogs his daily fares around London, and his explanation of how the taxi queuing system at Heathrow Airport works is really interesting.
   
• Never Gonna Give You Up, but with a velociraptor.

• The title of this article is unhelpful clickbait, so I'm going to retitle it: how huge numbers of late-20th century US sweepstakes were rigged.
   
• A fascinating diagram of how the elephant was depicted in European history, copied from scholar to scholar, each time getting a little bit further away from reality.
   
• And a second link about Heathrow Airport, where there was a mystery: why were tiny tubes on parked aircraft being blocked?
   
• ScotRail released all its automated passenger announcements as a single MP3 file. And despite the fact that Freedom of Information requests don't release copyright, they don't seem to have minded the resulting soundboard or ambient ScotRail lo-fi beats.

And finally: in 1997, the BBC soap opera EastEnders made some episodes that were so bad that they now have their own Wikipedia article.
