Hello!
This week, I'm making one last return to a genre I left behind years ago: 14 science fiction ideas in under 6 minutes, as I get all the things I can't make out of my head in one burst.

Elsewhere on YouTube:
- The music video for Sam Ryder's "Space Man" is a joyful celebration of Teletext, the now-defunct standard for sending additional data over a television signal. If you were the type of person to press the
"TEXT" button on your remote control, you'll either enjoy this, or you'll be really annoyed that it's simulated with motion graphics rather than being truly accurate to the technology.
- Anne of All Trades demonstrates a 200-year-old machine that automatically pulls the kernels off corn, so she can make popcorn the old-fashioned way. It's a great demonstration of old engineering and a terrible demonstration of food hygiene.
- Watch the first four minutes of Calum's video about jerry cans! Information-dense, fast, with cutaway gags that keep things interesting but don't distract too much. Things do slow down after that, but if your curiosity's piqued after that introduction, it's worth sticking around.
- Eric Paré has a 176-camera bullet-time rig and he knows how to use it.
And away from the world of video this week:
- Wordle, but using the International Phonetic Alphabet: a really interesting challenge that could also be a good way of memorising IPA for language learners. (thanks SK for sending that in!)
- And finally: I thought the Eternal Jukebox had long since shut down, but it's back. It analyses songs and makes them play forever. Depending on how your brain works, this could be either heaven-sent or torture. (thanks to Bart for sending that in!)
All the best,
— Tom
