Elsewhere on YouTube, this week I've found:
- The Superbowl half-time show was officially interpreted into American Sign Language by two deaf rappers — not just interpreters, but folks who actually perform shows in ASL. I'd love to see a gloss back into English, to understand how the translation worked: but even as someone who doesn't
know ASL, the performance shines through.
- Related, from 2016: the Swedish sign language translation of Bada Nakna, a song from the Eurovision selection that year, is an absolutely wonderful performance. All you need to know is that the title translates to English as "swimming naked", and if you (understandably) don't like the
song, then at least skip to two minutes in for the Moment during the middle eight.
- Dr Simon Clark reads the top 100 scientific papers of all time. To summarise his results: there's a lot more biology than you might think.
- You may well already have seen this terrifying video of a small ferry in rough waves in Hamburg, but if you haven't: well, be glad you weren't on board.
