Is the news a little too serious for you? Would you prefer to be distracted from the woes of everyday life with cheap adolescent jokes? Well, the Your Mum News script can help!
Your Mum News reads BBC News, CNN and The Guardian stories when you visit them, and replaces some (but not all) of the two-word capitalised phrases — mostly names — with the phrase "your mum". Hence:
This is a Greasemonkey script: click here to install it. Once it's installed, visit BBC News, CNN or The Guardian.
Warning: This makes no distinction between fun, light-hearted news stories and horrific tragedies. If there's a terrible event, this will replace sections of it with puerile playground humour.
If you don't know about Greasemonkey, then Wikipedia has a far better explanation than I could ever write. Basically: it's a Firefox extension that helps make sites easier – like adding download links to YouTube, look up products in other retailers, or remove all external Facebook applications. You can download it here.
I'd love to know what you think. Email me!
