What is this?: This is "Who Wants To Not Get Stabbed", a game using data from Google Street View and the police.uk API, made for National Hack The Government Day 2011.
Who made it?: Hello. I'm Tom Scott. I live at tomscott.com, and you can email me or follow me on Twitter.
I also did the voiceover; the music is Orbiter by MFR and is under a Creative Commons license.
Where's the crime rate data from?: The police.uk API, accurate as of early 2011.
It's broken!: Quite possibly. This was coded in a few hours' frenzy at a Hack Day, and there are almost certainly bugs – particularly if you're using a non-standard browser or playing with the very experimental audio features.
