In the pub after Day 1 of the 2011 Maker Faire UK, Tom Wyatt and the London Hackspace team came up with an idea — Kinect-controlled Tesla coils, or the "Evil Genius Simulator".
Tom Wyatt had a chat with the team from BrightArcs, who'd brought their giant Tesla coils along. A few hours of quick hacking later: it was real.
